From the packaging and delivery of our products to the build-out of our store, our commitment to the environment is real and ongoing. Here’s the dirt on our eco-efforts:
All of our packaging is eco-friendly. Some is made from recycled plastic; some is compostable, biodegradable and petroleum-free; and all are helping the planet in one way or another. Bring all of the packaging back to us, or exchange it with your delivery person, and we will recycle it for you.
Our shopping bags are 100% biodegradable, but we encourage you to purchase and use our canvas bags (made from lightweight, durable hemp), or use your own. Our hot cup sleeves are made from recycled paper, and our kid’s tee shirts are made from 100% organic cotton.
The Get Fresh store was renovated using non-toxic, sustainable and locally sourced materials, including: bamboo, cork and ecological quarry tile flooring, non-VOC paints and recycled and reclaimed building materials.
We use energy-efficient appliances and lighting, as well as low-flow water fixtures and dual-flush toilets.
We recycle material waste, and we compost food scraps.
We encourage our customers to use Get Fresh canvas or insulated bags for toting meals home.
And, we deliver Get Fresh meals by bike, in lieu of cars or vans.
